I will be the first to admit that I expect a lot from myself and I have struggled with varying degrees of perfectionism throughout most of my life. And while these characteristics have served me in some ways they have also been very debilitating at times.
This pregnancy has taught me and continues to teach me with each passing day that I need to give myself grace. Not everything is going to get done and while I wish I could do ALL the things on my to-do list each day, there are some days that it’s just not going to happen. The laundry will pile up, ideas that excite me might continue to just be ideas, and pushing my wellness business forward while working my full-time job doesn’t always happen. And that is okay. I’m choosing to lean into grace and compassion for myself and letting the rest go.
So as you move into this season of not-enoughness while you scroll through your Pinterest and social feeds with perfectly decorated homes, the cutest little families in matching Christmas jammies, and 5-course holiday meals, know that you are not alone. And I hope you choose to give yourself grace as well because YOU are doing a great job, my love, even in those times you don’t always see it.
