Spring Bucket List

Although it officially arrived a week and a half ago, today was one of the first days it actually felt like spring! I’m using the energy and inspiration this sunshine has provided to dream of all things spring, and while we may be in for at least another 6 inches of snow this weekend, I’m still looking forward to all this new season has in store. Today, I’m sharing my spring bucket list, describing all that I’m excited about while making the very best of this lovely season.

1. Go to the farmers market

We are so lucky to have such wonderful options for indoor farmers markets during the winter months, but I’m so excited for the return of the outdoor market at Deering Oaks Park. I love walking up to The Holy Donut, picking up a dark chocolate sea salt donut, and then walking through the market to pick up fresh veggies and fruit for the week ahead.

2. Jump in a puddle

As a child, I always wore XTRATUF® boots so I could jump into the biggest puddles whenever I saw them. It was one of my favorite things about spring and I can’t wait to bring this activity of pure joy back into my life.

3. Wear your favorite sundress

T is always begging me to wear sundresses, and while yoga pants will continue to be my go-to, the sunshine and warmer weather has me reaching for my favorite sundress more often than not.

4. Buy tulips

Tulips are one of my most favorite flowers and I love having them in the house. Growing up, there was a house on my street that had the most beautiful patch of tulips that would appear in their yard each year and it was something I looked forward to every spring. They are just so pretty and feminine, and I can’t get enough of these flowers this time of year.

5. Bake sweet treats

I always find as the days get longer and the sun shines just a bit brighter I feel more inspired in the kitchen and come up with the most creative, delicious treats.

6. Spot a rainbow

I get so excited any time I spot a rainbow. Every time I happen to see one, it makes the whole day feel magical.

7. Decorate eggs

Since T and I started dating we’ve talked about decorating eggs together, and then life gets in the way and we never get around to doing it. This year, I’m committing to making it happen! It will either be super fun or a total disaster...

8. Have an ice cream date

The local ice cream shops around us are slowly starting to open for the season and I’m so excited! I love stopping for ice cream after dinner and picking from all the different delicious flavors.

9. Pick wildflowers

There are a few fields close to where we live that are filled with wildflowers in the spring. I love walking through them and picking flowers to wear in my hair and to decorate our home.

10. Go to a baseball game

The Portland Sea Dogs have their season opener next week and I really can’t wait to take in a game this spring. There just isn’t much better than watching a game on a warm spring evening, while drinking a delicious brew.

11. Spring cleaning

Every spring I get so energized to do a deep cleaning of my entire space, getting rid of things that no longer bring me joy and clearing out clutter to invite more light and energy into my life.

12. Have a picnic

I love laying out a blanket at the Eastern Promenade and having a picnic, while overlooking the ocean.

13. Visit a botanical garden

I went to Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens this winter and since then I’ve been dying to see what the gardens look like in the warmer months. I can only imagine how beautiful it will all be.

14. Eat dinner outside

T and I love to eat dinner in our yard on spring nights and I can’t wait for it to be warm enough for the two of us to do so.

What’s on your spring bucket list?
