Monday Mantra | Imperfect Action is Better than Perfect Inaction

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and that you are able to extend the celebration into today, spending this bit of extra time with those that you love. Today’s Monday Mantra is a quote from Harry S. Truman who said, “Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction.”

Far too often, when I dream up an idea I contemplate it for weeks, determining just how I would go about executing it perfectly. And more times than I care to admit, I choose not to even follow through because I tell myself there are so many others that can do it better than I. But the truth is, each and every one of us has gifts that should be shared with the world, whether you see them as being perfect or not. By not following through, you will never know the potential you could reach, and you limit yourself by not even trying. It is in your mistakes, your imperfections, that you learn and grow- doing things better with each and every attempt. As you look ahead to the New Year, I encourage you to dream big. Throw caution to the wind and simply start. It will likely not be perfect, but it will be progress, which is far greater than anything else.

What have you been holding back on because you fear it isn’t perfect? What can you do to simply take that first step?
